I’m not photogenic. But I do have some great photos of myself at which I gaze upon from time to time for a quick ego boost. I mean, nothing trumps looking at pictures where you’re looking your best to overcome moments of self-doubt, right?
So today I’m going to show you 4 tips on how to look great in photos. Remember how stars seem to look their awesome best in those red-carpet moments? Well, you can have your personal red-carpet moments with these tips, starting with:
1. A Slimmer Waist
Face the camera with one foot slightly in front of the other. Now gently pivot on your feet to let your body is at an angle to the camera. This is usually enough. However, if you want to make your waist even smaller, you can place your hands on your hips too.
2. Longer Legs
Always wear heels. No, I’m not saying 6-inch heels, just a slight heel is sufficient. Wearing flats makes you forget your posture, but heels will keep you on your toes (literally!) And when you’re aware of your posture, you automatically adopt the classic body posture, making you stand taller and look slimmer.
3. Well-Sculpted Face
By “well-sculpted face” I mean no excess fat showing on your face. It’s tricky to hide the fat on your face. But you do have two options.
First, you can pout slightly to move the focus to your lips. Yeah, it’s not really for guys but for girls only. But guys can benfit from the second option.
The second option is simple – stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth while your picture is being taken. Usually the fat on your face is on the cheeks or chin, right? So working up your tongue like this will make your cheeks and chin muscles contract and tighten up the lower face area.
4. The Right Colors
And finally, the right colors can make you look radiant. And when you’re smiling, this radiance will grow ten-fold. So always choose the right colors in your outfits – clothes, accessories, even makeup.
Contrary to popular belief, black is not suitable for everyone. If black is not for you, wearing it can drain the color from your face, resulting in bad photos. Use Color Analysis to find and wear the right colors to bring out the best in your natural colorings – skin, hair and eye.
There are obviously many more tips on how to look great in photos. But for starters, just use one of these tips to get some great photos of yourself. Don’t forget to rehearse in front of the mirror before actually trying it out on camera!
