You try to be at your best every day so that people see the best of you. But sometimes your “best” can be misunderstood by others, leaving you struggling with a bad image and in need of an image makeover. Here’s an example..
A perfect example of an image makeover is that of former Bollywood actor, Twinkle Khanna. She started out in 1995 and worked with almost all the reigning superstars of Bollywood. However, critics and audiences blasted her acting abilities. Even her sense of styling was mocked, especially those mid-riff showing outfits reminiscent of her mother, Dimple Kapadia’s “Bobby” days.
Fast forward to 2015 and today Twinkle Khanna aka Mrs. FunnyBones, currently the Hashtag Queen trending on and off in Twitter India, is a force to reckon with.
She’s a interior designer. She’s a columnist with a leading newspaper buzzing the Net by unleashing her satirical skills in her columns. She’s signed a multiple book deal with a leading publishing house. And wonder of wonders, she’s been voted the best dressed celebrity on numerous publications as well. Amazing, isn’t it?
So how did all this happen?
She gave up her least-appealing quality – acting. By pursuing her passion instead of hanging on to a job being “average”, she achieved more happiness, and consequently more success.
She worked on her less-appealing quality – sense of styling. I once read in a magazine that she hates shopping. So someone is helping her in this area, definitely. Her rare public appearances are usually in outfits more attuned to her personality.
And finally she concentrated on her best quality – her sense of humor. Her columns and tweets are doused in satire and humor, the good kind. Her columns became the gateway to know the writer in her, the person within. And her wicked sense of humor earned her more than 328,000 followers in Twitter as well.
I say, “Kudos to you, Mrs.Funnybones.. You rock!”
As you can see, image makeover is possible, and it’s definitely more than changing one’s hairstyle. All you have to do is realize it’s time for change and duly put in the effort to change your life for better. What do you think? Let me know.
